Our International Community
Where Diversity Thrives, Multilingualism Grows, and Families Feel at Home
Kita International is home to families from more than 40 nationalities, with over 35 languages spoken in our community.
English is the common language in our classrooms. German is woven into daily life through songs, routines, and activities. Children learn naturally, without pressure, in an environment where multilingualism is a strength.
For many families, we are their first school in Germany. We understand the challenges of starting in a new country—and we are here to make that transition warm, clear, and welcoming.
Our Core Beliefs
Philosophy and Mission
At Kita International, we see every child as a unique individual with their own strengths, abilities, and potential. We believe children are competent, capable learners from the very beginning, and our mission is to nurture confident, compassionate, and curious young people in an environment where diversity is celebrated and every child truly belongs.
We understand childhood as a formative and meaningful stage of life. Through play, inquiry-based learning, and trusting relationships, children build strong foundations for their social, emotional, linguistic, and cognitive development. Our educators create thoughtfully prepared learning environments that invite exploration, creativity, and collaboration while fostering each child’s sense of self-efficacy.
In our diverse and internationally minded community, cultural and linguistic diversity is viewed as a strength. Through meaningful everyday experiences and integrated learning opportunities, children develop the foundations for learning, well-being, and global citizenship.
Our Guiding Principles for Learning
How Children Learn and Grow with Us
- Every Child Is Unique
Each child brings their own personality, interests, and story. We meet children where they are and support them in growing at their own pace. - Play-Based, Child-Centered Learning
Children learn best through play. In our classrooms, play is intentional and meaningful—supporting language development, critical thinking, creativity, and social-emotional growth. - Projects and Exploration
Our teachers design projects based on children’s interests, encouraging curiosity, problem-solving, and deep engagement with the world around them. - Inspiring Learning Spaces
Our thoughtfully designed environments invite exploration, collaboration, and calm. Spaces are beautiful, functional, and carefully adapted to children’s needs. - Active, Social, and Sensory Learning
Children move, build, touch, talk, and imagine. Learning is hands-on, interactive, and engaging—never passive. - Strong Relationships
Warm and respectful relationships between children, teachers, and families form the foundation for a secure and supportive learning environment. - Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
Our international community reflects the wider world. We honor different cultures, languages, and family backgrounds, fostering respect and openness from the very beginning. - Language Learning
English is our shared language of instruction. German is naturally integrated throughout the week, helping children feel at home in Berlin while growing within an international environment.
