Our International Community

Where Diversity Thrives, Multilingualism Grows, and Families Feel at Home

Kita International is home to families from more than 40 nationalities, with over 35 languages spoken in our community.

English is the common language in our classrooms. German is woven into daily life through songs, routines, and activities. Children learn naturally, without pressure, in an environment where multilingualism is a strength.

For many families, we are their first school in Germany. We understand the challenges of starting in a new country—and we are here to make that transition warm, clear, and welcoming.

Our Beliefs

Philosophy and Mission

At Kita International, we believe every child is unique, capable, and full of potential. Our mission is to nurture confident, curious, and compassionate children in a warm, inclusive environment where every child feels they belong.

We see childhood as a time of wonder. Through play, strong relationships, and meaningful everyday experiences, children develop essential skills for learning and life. We support their growth across social, emotional, and language development while encouraging independence and a sense of agency.

By embracing diversity and fostering respect for others, we help children take their first steps toward becoming open-minded, responsible global citizens.

Our Educational Approach

How Children Learn and Thrive with Us

  • Every child is unique
Each child comes to us with their own personality, interests, and story. We meet children where they are and support them to grow at their own pace.
  • Play-based, child-centered learning
Children learn best through play. In our classrooms, play is purposeful and rich—supporting language, thinking, creativity, and social-emotional development.
  • Projects and exploration
Teachers design projects based on children’s interests. These projects encourage curiosity, problem-solving, and deep engagement with the world.
  • Inspiring spaces
Our learning environments are carefully designed to invite exploration, collaboration, and a sense of calm. Spaces are beautiful, functional, and adapted to children’s needs.
  • Active, social, and sensory learning
Children move, touch, build, talk, and imagine. Learning is physical, emotional, and social—never passive.
  • Strong relationships
We value warm, respectful relationships between children, teachers, and families. Feeling safe and connected is the foundation for learning.
  • Equity, diversity, and inclusion
Our community reflects the world. We honor different cultures, languages, and family backgrounds, teaching children respect and openness from the very beginning.
  • Language learning
English is our shared language of instruction. German is integrated naturally and immersed throughout the week, helping children feel at home in Berlin while growing in an international environment.
